Because that they have forsaken me, and have worshipped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon, and have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in mine eyes, and to keep my statutes and my judgments, as did David his father. (1 Kings 11:33)
My thoughts on that verse, were not so much about who they were worshipping, but that they were worshipping anyone other than the one True God. My heart is burdened for the Bride, but also the nation to which Father has providentially placed me.
America has lost her beginning, founded upon serving and having one king, King Jesus, and has deteriorated into the same place as Israel. As have many nations before and after Israel. Father judges nations on earth, and America has snubbed her nose at God for far too long. Beloved, should Father lay it upon your heart, please pray that HE will open blind eyes and deaf ears to see and hear the truth of our rebellion. To raise up those who will proclaim the need to repent.
O Father, You and You alone are worthy, holy, just and merciful. Only You Father can bring a spirit of repentance upon this wicked, vile, adulterous nation. Father, we deserve nothing less than total annihilation. We have no right to even ask for You to extend anything but cleansing judgment upon this land.
We are a wicked and vile people, our hearts are far from you. We call evil good and good evil. Lord, Your mercy is new every day, You extend goodness to those who do not appreciate, or even acknowledge it. Father, in Your holiness, Your just and merciful self, please open the eyes of the people of this nation to see our wickedness. To see the wretched state that we have allowed ourselves to sink. Lord, open blind eyes and deaf ears to hear the effectual call, to turn from our own ways and to seek after You.
O Lord, raise up people to pray and interceded for this nation. To stand up boldly and call for a change that only You can bring about. Lord, cause us to see how vile and wicked we have become. Lord, send a refreshing wind of recognition of our wickedness and a cleansing rain of Your empowering us to turn from the evil we have perpetuated against You and Your holiness.
Lord, increase the laborers into the harvest, awaken those who sleep, fill Your saints full with Your spirit. Amen!
