And over the king's treasures was Azmaveth the son of Adiel: and over the storehouses in the fields, in the cities, and in the villages, and in the castles, was Jehonathan the son of Uzziah:  (1 Chronicles 27:25)

Uzziah, who was slain by the Lord, his son is given a worthy task. Even though we as parents make mistakes, our children may not suffer adverse consequences.  Thank God for His mercy!

All thy works shall praise thee, O LORD; and thy saints shall bless thee.  (Psalm 145:10)

I like that David knew there were saints in the OT.

saints - H2623 - From H2616; properly kind, that is, (religiously) pious (a saint).
  • H2616 - A primitive root; properly perhaps to bow (the neck only (compare H2603) in courtesy to an equal), that is, to be kind; also (by euphemism (compare H1288), but rarely) to reprove.
Used 32 times.  A few that I thought worth sharing:

He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.  (1 Samuel 2:9)

With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.  (2 Samuel 22:26)

But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.  (Psalm 4:3)

For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.  (Psalm 16:10)

Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.  (Psalm 30:4)

For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.  (Psalm 37:28)

Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.  (Psalm 116:15)

The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.  (Psalm 145:17)

Searching for the word 'saint' brings up 95 verses.  Used in Deuteronomy 33:2:

And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them.

H6944 - From H6942; a sacred place or thing; rarely abstractly sanctity.
  • H6942 - A primitive root; to be (causatively make, pronounce or observe as) clean (ceremonially or morally).
But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.  (Dan 7:18)

H6922 - (Chaldee); corresponding to H6918.
  • H6918 - From H6942; sacred (ceremonially or morally); (as noun) God (by eminence), an angel, a saint, a sanctuary.
Ephraim compasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the saint (H6918).  (Hos 11:12)

Interesting trail of following either the word saint and/or one of the Hebrew/Greek words.  Be encouraged, if you do not have E-Sword, there are other Bible programs out there.  Do a search...be edified and encouraged!

Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations.  (Psalm 145:13)

Everlasting kingdom...where is the kingdom?  Some would state that it is to be recognized here on earth, that the Bride of Christ is to take dominion over the earth prior to Christs' return.

everlasting - H3605 and H5769 -

H3605 -From H3634; properly the whole; hence all, any or every (in the singular only, but often in a plural sense).
  • H3634 - A primitive root; to complete.
H5769 - From H5956; properly concealed, that is, the vanishing point; generally time out of mind (past or future), that is, (practically) eternity; frequentative adverbially (especially with prepositional prefix) always.
  • H5956 - A primitive root; to veil from sight, that is, conceal (literally or figuratively).
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.  (John 18:36)

Sooo...here, there or in the air.  :-D  Is the *kingdom* inside us at regeneration?  Or are we waiting for the manifestation of the kingdom upon His return?

I did not get a satisfactory answer from the commentaries, nor from searching online.  Will have to prayerfully revisit this one.

That phrase *everlasting kingdom* is used only 4 times, as in Psalms and then these:

How great are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders! his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation.  (Daniel 4:3)

And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.  (Daniel 7:27)

For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.   (2 Peter 1:11)
