It is interesting to me that the only item in the Tabernacle which was brought over to the Temple is the Ark...which was supposed to have an omar of manna from the wilderness wanderings, Aaron's rod that budded and the tablets of Law. The Ark endured much...capture, return, sitting...and by the time it came to rest in the Temple contained only the Law. Nothing is said in scripture as to what happened to the other items, but does record that those who looked into it suffered.
Solomon prays that if Israel turns from serving the Lord and comes to the realization that they have sinned, repents and prays towards HIM that God would heal them. Recognize, repent, release, replace...comes to mind. We have to recognize our sin, repent (to turn from), release it to God and replace our behavior, conduct, conversation with that which pleases Him (i.e. the WORD).
Father is always correcting, drawing, refining us for HIS purpose. The Glory of the Lord infused the Temple (1 Kings 8;11; 2 Chronicles 5:14)...and we as the Bride of Christ are living stones, our bodies are a temple to HIM, bought and paid for...filled with the Glory of the Lord.
That we (the Bride) would radiate HIS glory to all those who cross our paths, either in what we say and/or do. Does the 'savour' of Christ rest upon us...wafting into the nostrils of those who are perishing? To some we are the savour of life (those chosen from the foundation of the world) and to others we are an savour unto death. Regardless, we are to be a savour...how wonderful do we 'smell'?
