Day 108

The Reign of David 1025-985 B.C.

David (loving) becomes king - Anointed King of Judah in Hebron.

Ish-Bosheth (man of shame) is made king of Israel.

Thought it interesting that before a united kingdom under David, there was a divided kingdom similar to what happened after Solomon's death. David reigned in Hebron for 7 years 6 months. The American Civil War (or War Between the States) lasted from 1861 to 1865.

Civil war ends, Abner's (father of light) rebellion fails.

David's family in Hebron (apx birth of Absalom 1022 B.C.) - has begun to multiply wives: Ahinoam (brother of pleasantness), Abigail (father (that is source) of joy), Maacah (depression), Haggith (festive), Abital (father of dew) , Eglah (from H5697 a female calf).

Michal (rivulet) and Abner return to David - Michal never bears any children to David.

Joab (Jehovah-fathered) murders Abner - Abner had killed Joab's brother, Asahel (God has made). Desires revenge rather than restoration and/or reconciliation.

Thank you Lord for the reconciliation afforded to us by the shed blood of Jesus Christ on Calvary's Cross. Father may we daily surrender to You and live out our sanctification in humbleness and with contriteness of heart. Lord, make us willing ambassadors who give You all the glory, honor and reverence.
