Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house. (2 Chronicles 7:1)
the glory of the Lord - we talked about this in Bible study, how the glory of the Lord was upon the Tabernacle, then upon the Temple and then departed.
The phrase *glory of the Lord* is found 36 times in Scripture. First usage:
Exo 16:7 And in the morning, then ye shall see the glory of the LORD; for that he heareth your murmurings against the LORD: and what are we, that ye murmur against us?
Last usage:
2Co 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Some in between:
Luk 2:9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
Exo 40:34 Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
2Ch 7:2 And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD'S house.
Psa 104:31 The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works.
Eze 10:4 Then the glory of the LORD went up from the cherub, and stood over the threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the LORD'S glory.
I am sitting here pondering upon the glory of the Lord and the departure from the earthly dwelling, are we, as born again, spirit filled disciples now the dwelling of the glory of the Lord?
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16)
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? (1 Corinthians 6:19)
Found this site: Glory of the Lord - I hop, skipped and jumped through it (okay, I did not skip, but hopped and jumped).
Another one: Where is the Glory of the Lord.
So...have you been baptized with the Holy Ghost? Filled with the Spirit of the Living God? Have you become a vessel of honor in HIS hand? Do you know Him, or want to know Him more intimately?
There is no greater delight or joy in getting to know the one who designed you, chose you from before the foundation of the world. Prayerfully hopeful that HIS children are spending time reading HIS love letter to them and growing in grace.
