All this, said David, the LORD made me understand in writing by his hand upon me, even all the works of this pattern.  (1 Chronicles 28:19)

This verse reminded me of when Moses was given the *blueprint* for the tabernacle.

According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it.  (Exodus 25:9)

Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.  (Hebrews 8:5)

I have been pondering over covenants, who is in them, was the new a continuation of the old?  The verse in Hebrews is an echo of Jeremiah 31.  A new covenant, a heavenly home.  Lots to think about.

I thought this verse intriguing:

He watereth the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.  (Psalm 104:13)

God keeps the waters in His chambers?

chambers - H5944 - Feminine from H5927; something lofty, that is, a stair way; also a second story room (or even one on the roof); figuratively the sky.

  • H5927 - A primitive root; to ascend, intransitively (be high) or active (mount); used in a great variety of senses, primary and secondary, literally and figuratively.
Thought JFB commentary interesting:

Once destructive, these waters are subjected to the service of God’s creatures. In rain and dew from His chambers (compare Psa_104:3), and fountains and streams, they give drink to thirsting animals and fertilize the soil. Trees thus nourished supply homes to singing birds, and the earth teems with the productions of God’s wise agencies,

Furthermore David the king said unto all the congregation, Solomon my son, whom alone God hath chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great: for the palace is not for man, but for the LORD God.  (1 Chronicles 29:1)

I think we sometimes lose sight, or I do, that this life is not about me, or what I hope, think, etc.  It is about giving glory to God.  Not just with our words or actions, but our entire beings.  This life is not about accomplishing my goals, but in seeking to fill the goals and plans He has foreordained for me from the foundation of the world.

For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding.  (1 Chronicles 29:15)

We have so little time.  O Father, help us Your people to redeem the time you have given us.  Help us Lord to spend our time in a way which causes Your name and all that You are to receive glory and honor.
