Day 66 - 2010

Day 66 -

Godly separation required - Father explicitly states that the Hebrews are NOT to co-mingle with the people of the lands that they are overthrowing. Do follow their practices, their gods, their ways. They were to tear down, burn, destroy all the wicked altars, images, groves and graven images.

Deuteronomy 7:6 - For thou art a holy people unto the Lord thy God: the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.

Verse 7 - The Lord did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for you were the fewest of all people.

Mat 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

By grace - always by grace, through faith. We are to be set apart and holy unto the Lord.

Joh 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

The world hates us - it has always hated the people of the one true God - it always will. Lord help me to remember this and help Your people to stand firm in the midst of trials, tribulations and testings.

1Pe 2:4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,

1Pe 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Lord help me to remember that I am part of your spiritual house - a living stone - precious in Your sight. All for You and Your glory.

Warnings, admonitions, exhortations - a review of the 40 years (testings and trials and tribulations) - a reminder to NOT forget what God has done - remember, remember, remember. God drove out the wicked inhabitants because of their wickedness - not for the righteousness or uprightness of Israel.

Lord all of our righteousness is as filthy rags - we can bring absolutely nothing to You. We have nothing to offer. We are a sinful and rebellious people - from all nations - only by Your mercy, Your uprightness can we even dare to enter unto the throne of grace. Lord, help us not to be willfully disobedient - stiff-necked, forgetting Your ever lasting mercy. Lord let us daily reflect upon Your loving kindness.

Bring to our remembrance Lord how you plucked us out of the hand of the enemy - making a show openly - giving us eternal life. Cause the meditation of our hearts and minds to reflect upon Your goodness - even during the trials. Lord let this people that You have chosen as Your own, reflect the intense majesty of Your glory.

Let us not bewail or bemoan our lot - whatever and where ever we may be in our walk on this side of eternity - but let us always remember the final destination. Father allow us to stand before You with works that will stand the test of Your fire. May the cry of our heart be to hear You say, well done, thou good and faithful servant.
