Days 184-188 Hmmm...I am really slacking on the postings...though I am reading daily...taking the time to 'blog' is obviously not a priority. I hope that all are being blessed as they read through our Father's Word and look into the perfect mirror and desire to see a reflection of HIM growing daily. Judah - Prophecy of Judah's Invasion by Assyria - Isaiah 7:17-25; 8:5-22 Chastisement is coming to Israel and Judah - Isaiah 9:8-21; 10:1-4 Israel/Judah - Intercession of Obed; prisoners released - 2 Chronicles 28:9-15 Israel - Conspiracy of Syria and Israel against Judah fails - 2 Kings 16:5-6 Judah - Conspiracy of Syria and Israel against Judah fails - Isaiah 7:1-2 Judah - These enemies will not prevail against Judah but Israel to be broken within 65 years - Isaiah 7:3-19; Psalm 100:1-23 Judah - Damascus to be judged - Isaiah 8:1-4; 17:1-14 Judah - Assyria defeats Syria; Judah's enemy: Rezin killed - 2 Chronicles 28:16-9 Israel - Tiglath-Pileser III captures some areas for Assyria - 2 Kings 15:29; 1 Chronicles 5:25-26 Judah - Warning to Judah about impending judgment - Isaiah 1:2-31 Judah - Ahaz takes Damascus spoils; Jerusalem made pagan - 2 Kings 16:10-25 Israel - Pekah killed by Hoshea - 2 Kings 15:31, 30 Israel - Hoshea - BAD - an evil life - 2 Kings 17:1=2 Israel - Shalmaneser V replaces Tiglath-Pileser III in Assyria (727 B.C.) Judah - Hezekiah - VERY GOOD - dual resign with Ahaz, did good, brought revival - 2 Kings 18:1-6; 2 Chronicles 29:1-2 Israel - Ephraim's fate - Isaiah 28:1-29 Judah - Cleansing and reconsecration of the temple - 2 Chronicles 29:3-19 Israel - Ephraim's judgment - Hosea 5:1-15; 6:1-11 Judah - Temple worship restored - 2 Chronicles 29:20-36 Israel/Judah - Many from Israel unite with Judah to keep the Passover - 2 Chronicles 30:1-27; Psalm 81:1-16 When Israel is finally scattered...the tribes do not come back...I found it interesting that there is specific mention of which tribes hearkened to the call to worship at the temple: Asher (mentioned in the chronicle of Luke when Anna blesses the Messiah), Manasseh, Zebulun. Many of those who received the 'call' laughed them to scorn and mocked them. That sounds familiar, does it not? We are 'called' to speak forth the truth of the gospel, but many who 'hear' laugh, mock and scorn us. That in no way, mitigates our responsibility to carry forth the message of eternal hope, light and life. Those who are appointed to eternal life will hear...those who are not, to eternal death (separation from God). May our lips give praise to the One who willingly stepped forth from HIS place on high to secure our eternal salvation. May we daily live to give HIM all the honor and glory due HIS name, seeking to grow in sanctification and holiness. Blessings ~ Melissa |
