Day 241
Tyre invaded by Nebuchadnezzar - 585-573 B.C.
Nebuchadnezzar plunders Moab, Ammon - 582/581 B.C.
7th Deportation - 745 more captives (totaling 4,600 from 2nd, 4th and 7th deportations) - Jeremiah 52:30
Nebuchadnezzar's image and fiery furnace - Daniel 3:1-30
Nebuchadnezzar's proclamation - Daniel 4:1-3
Ezekiel's prophecies after Jerusalem's fall - Message to the captive nations - ethical instructions - Ezekiel 33:1-20 (WATCHMAN - are you being diligent?)
Message to faithless shepherds - Ezekiel 34:1-10 (SHEPHERDS - are you being diligent?)
~*~~**~~~~~**~~*~
7th deportation - final one...7 - spiritual perfection...I could not find my book on biblical numbers...google to the rescue and found this site:
www.biblestudy.org/bibleref/meaning-of-n...le/introduction.html
Again...I DO NOT vet the websites...when I am looking for something specific, I grab and go...be a Berean! Please do not FLAME me if a website does not line up with your theology, mindset, etc. etc.
The FIREY FURNACE - any child who has sat through a Sunday school or vacation Bible School has heard this story...but the magnitude of it still amazes me. First, only Daniel's 3(3 = complete) companions are called onto the carpet (so to speak) for not bowing down to an idol...I have always wondered where was Daniel? Father obviously providentially provided that he be elsewhere. Have you ever reflected back on a situation or circumstance and realized that somehow, someway, Father made sure you were not in a place of harm, or compromise?
Interesting as well that Nebuchadnezzar gives the 3 Hebrews a second chance...he did not just take the word of those who were accusing, he wanted to 'judge' rightly regarding their trespass. Would this seem to indicate that he held them in high esteem?
Yet, they stick to their guns...knowing that God will either deliver them or they will go to be with Him, having stood firm on the rock of their salvation. How diligent are we to not bow to the idols of our era? To stand firm against the pulling and nagging of the culture to conform?
They withstand and Father rewards them via the king of Babylon - he promoted them. When we stand firm for our God, HIS standards of right and wrong, HE will reward us...either now or later...but reward us HE will. He is faithful to sustain us through all of life's storms.
Which brought to mind this song: Sometimes He Calms the Storm by Scott Krippayne. Here is the link for the video:
Watchman and Shepherds - both receive warning...Lord, You alone know how many are not being diligent in these areas. Father, you alone, can cause those in positions of authority to act righteously. Raise up Your prayer warriors for those in positions of authority. Remove those who pervert Your word and Your ways. Expose those who preach and teach a false gospel. Lord, raise up a multitude of watchmen to speak for Your Word. A host of Shepherds who rightly divide and proclaim Your TRUTH.

Day 240 -
65% through the year! Whoo Hooo! - Even if you are not on the 'same' page...or if you have not even started to do a read through the Bible in a year...either keep plugging along, or jump in, or restart. No excuses! We are all behind...'cause we were not with HIM in the Beginning!
~*~*~*~*~
Ezekiel's prophecies as Jerusalem falls - Ezekiel hears of Jerusalem's fall - Ezekiel 33:21-33
Prophecies continue against:
Ammonites - Ezekiel 25:1-7
Moab - Ezekiel 25:8-14
Philistia - Ezekiel 25:15-17
Zidon - Ezekiel 28:20-26
Egypt - Ezekiel 32:1-32
*~*~*~*~*
Ezekiel 33:25 - Wherefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Ye eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood: and shall ye possess the land?
How many nations fall into this category? We are such idolatrous, bloody and deceitful people. It is a wonder Father has not consumed all of us from off the face of the planet. Only because of HIS enduring mercy have we yet to be consumed. O' Father shed abroad upon this undeserving people Your grace...cause us to see our wickedness, our idolatry, our abhorrence of You and Your perfect law. Raise up those who will rightly divide the Word and proclaim it to the captives. Open the mouth of Your people to speak forth Your words of truth and light with boldness and humility.

Day 239
Jeremiah reluctantly leads in exodus of rebels to Egypt - 2 Kings 25:26; Jeremiah 41:16-18; 42:1-22; 43:1-13
Jeremiah's prophecy against Egypt - Jeremiah 46:13-28
To the Jews in Egypt - Jeremiah 44:1-30
*~*~*~*~*~
Jeremiah waited 10 days for an answer...this reminds me of when Daniel is praying and the angel says his prayer was heard, but the answer delayed. How many times have we prayed and waited? How patient are we for an answer? How often do we go ahead, when we should wait or have 'missed' a no from Father?
Jeremiah 43:2 - ...proud men... - proud - H2086 - From H2102; arrogant: - presumptuous, proud. H2102 - A primitive root; to seethe; figuratively to be insolent:
They said they would listen and do what Jeremiah told them...they did not...and God continued to judge them. They actually thought they were suffering ill effects from NOT worshiping false gods/idols. How sad. Reflection...if Father 'tells' me to do or not do something, how well am I listening? How can I hear HIM, unless I spend time getting to know HIM, HIS will, HIS desires via HIS word?
I am still pondering the word translated in the Bible as Jew - found this article - www.assemblyoftrueisrael.com/TruthPage/the_word_jew.html
An interesting note...those who fled into the Caucasus Mountains were thereafter known as Caucasians.

Judah pleads for restoration - Lamentations 5:1-22
XIII - The CAPTIVITY 586-516 B.C. - A Time Without A Temple

Temporary captive to Ramah - Jeremiah 39:14; 40:1-5 (where is Ramah? bibleatlas.org/ramah.htm)

**~*~**~*~**
Lamentations 3:22-23 - It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because HIS compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
"Great is Thy faithfulness," O God my Father,
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.
"Great is Thy faithfulness!" "Great is Thy faithfulness!"
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided—
"Great is Thy faithfulness," Lord, unto me!
Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above,
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thy own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
Or if you would like to listen:
Where would we be if HE was not merciful? Full of grace? Compassionate? O' God our God, who else is like You...to whom else could we go to find such attributes? You, Father, alone are worthy of all honor, glory and praise. Father, forgive our nation. Not because of anything or anyone in it...simply because of Your magnificent nature...O' Lord, open eyes and deaf ears to see and hear. Raise up a multitude of voices throughout this nation to proclaim and rightly divide Your word.
Jeremiah 40:2-3 - And the captain of the guard took Jeremiah, and said unto him, The Lord thy God hath pronounced this evil upon this place. Now the Lord had brought it, and done according as he hath said: because ye have sinned against the Lord, and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this thing is come upon you.
A pagan conqueror states to Jeremiah what he has been telling Judah all along...is that preaching to the choir? Even the pagans knew why Judah was being judged!
Jew? Used several times - H3064 - Patronymic from H3063; a Jehudite (that is, Judaite or Jew), or descendant of Jehudah (that is, Judah): - Jew. - H3063 - From H3034; celebrated; Jehudah (or Judah). Day 236
Temple and walls destroyed, Jerusalem plundered fifth time, by Nebuzar-Adan - 2 Kings 25:8-10; 2 Chronicles 36:19; Jeremiah 39:8; 52:12-14
5th deportation, poor left behind - 2 Kings 25:11-12; 2 Chronicles 36:20-21; Jeremiah 39:9-110; 52:15-16; Psalm 94
Temple furnishings and treasuries taken to Babylon - 2 Kings 25:13-17; 2 Chronicles 36:18; 52:17-23
6th deportation, to Riblah - priests captured, including Zephaniah - 2 Kings 25:18; 52:24, Psalm 74, 79
*~*~*~*~*
Great houses - H1419 - From H1431; great (in any sense); hence older; also insolent: - H1431 - A primitive root; properly to twist (compare H1434), that is, to be (causatively make) large (in various senses, as in body, mind, estate or honor, also in pride):
This makes me think of all those 'great' people in our society...those who may have been elevated by deception. I am NOT a socialist! Those who work hard and treat others with respect deserve to prosper, and NOT have the government decide to take their $ {stepping off my soapbox}. It is those who take bribes, use and abuse people to 'advance' themselves find themselves at odds with the judgment of God. God is not mocked...whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
The poor are left to be vinedressers and husbandmen. Poor - has two different Hebrew words...H1803 and H1800.
H1803 - From H1802; properly something dangling, that is, a loose thread or hair; figuratively indigent: H1802 - A primitive root (compare H1809); properly to dangle, that is, to let down a bucket (for drawing out water); figuratively to deliver:
H1800 - From H1809; properly dangling, that is, (by implication) weak or thin: H1809 - A primitive root (compare H1802); to slacken or be feeble; figuratively to be oppressed:
Soooo...the 'poor' of the land who probably had very little, perhaps not even land? They are now blessed by the evil that has befallen their fellow Hebrews? Gill's commentary seems to indicate this...that those who were the oppressed in society are now blessed to be in possession of the lands of those carried away. Nothing is wasted in the economy of God. Ever. He is always in control and in charge, working out HIS perfect plan and design for HIS people. He never rests, nor slumbers and is always for us, never against us, even in the midst of great adversity. If God be for us WHO can be against us?
Lord, our nation has behaved wickedly...we have been greatly blessed by Your common grace...the sun to shine by day, rain to water crops, abundance beyond measure, yet we have turned our backs on You, scoffed at Your word, ridiculed Your sacrificial Lamb. Lord, we deserve nothing less that what idolatrous Israel and Judah suffered...yet Father You are gracious and full of mercy. You open deaf ears and blind eyes...Lord, hear the cry of Your Chosen People, bring repentance to this land...cause us to see our wickedness and folly. Raise up godly men of integrity to preach and teach Your Word, without hypocrisy or deceit. Stop the mouths of those who preach a false gospel...who pervert the Truth of Christ Jesus. Bring revival to this land...cause us to be humble and contrite before You Father.

Day 235
Prophecy concerning Jerusalem's destruction, Jeremiah in dungeon - Jeremiah 34:1-7; 38:1-27
Prophecy to the Ethiopian - Jeremiah 39:15-18 - Scripture does not record his concern, nor any auditory plea made for clemency. Yet, Father knew his need and met him and reassured him. He knows our need before we even ask. He hears our silent pleas for protection. Thank you Lord for your provision.
Fall of Jerusalem - Jeremiah 38:28
Famine prevails - 2 Kings 25:3; Jeremiah 52:6
Babylonian princes come - Jeremiah 39:2-3
Zedekiah flees - his flight - 2 Kings 5:4; Jeremiah 39:4; 52:7 - he listened not....how well are we listening to the prophets (the Word)?
Pursuit and capture by Chaldeans - 2 Kings 25:5; Jeremiah 39:5; 52:8
Many killed - 2 Chronicles 36:17
He and his sons carried to Riblah - Jeremiah 52:9 {Map: bibleatlas.org/riblah.htm}
Sons slain - Jeremiah 39:6; 52:10
Eyes put out, deported to Babylon, predicted - Ezekiel 12:13-14
Happened - 2 Kings 25:6-7; Jeremiah 39:7; 52:11
~*~*~*~*~*
Jeremiah 38:6 - Then took they Jeremiah, and cast him into the dungeon of Malchiah the son of Hammelech, that was in the court of the prison: and they let down Jeremiah with cords. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire: so Jeremiah sunk in the mire.
Mire - H2916 - From an unused root meaning apparently to be sticky (rather perhaps a denominative from H2894, through the idea of dirt to be swept away); mud or clay; figuratively calamity: - clay, dirt, mire.
What must he have been thinking? I always assumed mire meant something else...refuse of some sort...sunk (H2883 - A primitive root; to sink: - drown, fasten, settle, sink.) To my mind this implies....depth...ugggh....and yet in this adversity he stayed true to HIS God...refusing to speak anything but Father's Words.
License to Lie?
Jeremiah 38:26-27 - Then thou shalt say unto them, I presented my supplication before the king, that he would not cause me to return to Jonathan's house, to die there. Then came all the princes unto Jeremiah, and asked him: and he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they left off speaking with him; for the matter was not perceived.
We had a teaching on the 9th commandment - several in fact. How the midwives were rewarded for lying, as was Rahab, because it was done to protect innocent life. In this case, who is Jeremiah protecting? Himself? The king? That is a ponderable...hmmmm...
Day 235
Prophecy concerning Jerusalem's destruction, Jeremiah in dungeon - Jeremiah 34:1-7; 38:1-27

Jehovah's answer - Jeremiah 32:26-44
Prophecy concerning the Davidic covenant and kingdom - Jeremiah 33:1-26
*~*~*~*~*~*
Ezekiel 28:3 - Behold, thou are wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that they can hide from thee: - wiser than Daniel? Pretty lofty commendation. Daniel was elevated, by God, to a lofty position of authority. Able to discern dreams and make interpretations. This tribute, nestled within the prophecy against Tyrus, states the prince of Tyrus had great wisdom. Yet, his kingdom was being judged, as was he. This is quite scary...wisdom is the principal thing, get wisdom, get understanding the Word of God tells us...yet even if we have it, we can still be proud, arrogant? Did the price of Tyrus have only the wisdom of the world? How could that be if it was compared to Daniel? Daniel had wisdom from God, does this equate the prince of Tyrus with the same? This is quite frightening...if an unsaved person (assumption) could have the wisdom of God and still not get 'it' - are we in danger? Do we rely on our 'wisdom', trusting it to guide us? Scary proposition...are we really seeking and applying the TRUE wisdom of God in every situation and circumstance?
Jeremiah 33:20-21 - Thus saith the Lord; if ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season; then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.
Covenant - H1285 - From H1262 (in the sense of cutting (like H1254)); a compact (because made by passing between pieces of flesh):
No one, ever, has been able to change the sequence of day to night. NEVER...HAHAHAHA and man thinks he is in control? Nothing will thwart the will of a Sovereign and Holy God...nothing.
I liked Gill's commentary:
Jer 33:20 Thus saith the Lord, if you can break my covenant of the day,
and my covenant of the night,.... The same with the ordinances of the sun, moon, and stars, Jer_31:35; the original constitution and law of nature, settled from the beginning of the world, and observed ever since, in the constant revolution of day and night; and which was formed into a covenant and promise to Noah, after the deluge, that day and night should not cease, as long as the earth remained, Gen_8:22; and which has never been, nor can be, broken and made void: so
that there should not be day and night in their season; or turn; continually succeeding each other: this, as it would not be attempted, so could never be effected by any mortals, if it were.

*~*~*~*~*~
Having dealt with the word dross yesterday...the word scum stood out in today's reading:
Eze 24:11 Then set it empty upon the coals thereof, that the brass of it may be hot, and may burn, and that the filthiness of it may be molten in it, that the scum of it may be consumed.
And as anyone who has ever cooked knows...a pot with stuff in it that burns on is n-a-s-t-y. No doubt about it...and with nasty stuff on top of it...yuck!
Scum - From H2456; properly disease; hence rust: - scum. H2456 - A primitive root (compare H2470); to be sick: - be diseased. H2470 - A primitive root (compare H2342, H2490); properly to be rubbed or worn; hence (figuratively) to be weak, sick, afflicted; or (causatively) to grieve, make sick; also to stroke (in flattering), entreat:
Okay, that is far down the rabbit trail as I am going today...suffice to say disease...sin...wickedness...how caked on is our sin? So much so, that we do not see and or recognize it? O Lord, please help us to see ourselves as YOU do...to recognize, repent, release and replace with Your Word. Help us to daily desire to be washed in Your Word.
Death of Ezekiel's wife...sad...and he is told NOT to mourn...we recently had a wonderful saint pass along home...and the tears shed were not for her, but for those left behind...though her husbands testimony of her continues to be awesome and his rejoicing in her final destination a delight to hear and see and know. This is what was at the forefront of my mind while reading about Ezekiel and his loss...his confidence was in the Lord and HIS provision...though bereft of his beloved, he could know that she was with the Lord. I am making a very LARGE assumption here that she was one of HIS chosen...if I am incorrect, my humble apologies.
Which reminds me of the verse that states it is better to go into the house of mourning...it brings man (and woman) smack up into the reality of their eternal destination. Where are you spending eternity? How do you know that you are? How is your life a reflection of that change wrought by the supernatural GRACE of a loving and merciful God?

Days 230 and 231
Divine judgment - Ezekiel 18:1-32
Lamentation for Israel's princes - Ezekiel 19:1-14
Mercy to Israel - Ezekiel 20:1-49
Judgment by the sword - Ezekiel 21:1-32
Jerusalem judged - Ezekiel 22:1-31
Lewd sisters, a type of Samaria and Jerusalem - Ezekiel 23:1-49

Dross - Recent conversation about dross made this an item of interest. Dross = impurities. We all have them. Will have until the day we are called and/or taken home (depending upon your eschatology).
Eze 22:18 Son of man, the house of Israel is to me become dross: all they are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are even the dross of silver.
Eze 22:19 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye are all become dross, behold, therefore I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.
Dross is in the Word 8x in 7 verses - H5509 - From H5472 in the sense of refuse; scoria: - dross. H5472 - A primitive root; properly to flinch, that is, (by implication) to go back, literally (to retreat) or figuratively (to apostatize).
This reminded me of an email which circulated about a Bible study and the verse was:
Pro 25:4 Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer.
Supposedly one went to a silversmith to find out how silver is refined. The raw material (us) must be put into the fire (trials, tribulations and testings), where the smith (God) continually keeps HIS eye on us(*), repeatedly skimming off dross (purging the impurities) until the reflection of the Master is seen (going home).
I found this site: truthintheword.wordpress.com/2010/03/07/...for-the-silversmith/
I have not vetted the site, it happened to have an article which fit ... do not flame me if it is not biblically lined up...be discerning in all that you read, avail yourselves.
I liked a link they had...about being washed in the Word...daily. This fits with Acts 17:11, '...they searched the scriptures daily...' Daily...not once a week...not Sunday and Wednesday. Daily. Every day...how diligent is the Bride to 'study to show herself approved, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed?'
If you are being diligent to study, does Father want you to encourage someone else to do the same? To be in a Bible study? To start one? To mentor someone? To seek a mentor?
We can not reflect the Master if we do not continually, habitually, with due diligence look into the mirror of HIS Word. How much clearer is the image of our Father in our lives today than from whence we began?

Day 229
The unfaithful wife - Ezekiel 16:1-63 (wow, what a long chapter!)
Parable of the eagles - Ezekiel 17:1-24
Ezekiel 16:6 and when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in they blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thine blood, Live.
Just noticed that Live was capitalized in this particular Bible...same thing in E-sword.
Live - H2421 - A prim root (compare H2331, H2424); to live, whether literally or figuratively; causatively to revive:
Another evidence of how GOD chooses. Abram was not out looking for God...God chose him...he sojourned in the land of Cannan and from thence Father brought forth a nation, birthed in adversity. Yet, no true repentance on her part, she played the harlot. Rough comparison to Samaria and Sodom as sisters to Israel and how Israel had corrupted more than they. Remember Sodom? Destroyed by God for its wickedness? The iniquity of Sodom (16:49) pride, fullness of bread, abundance of idleness, and she did not strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
I like this commentary by Gill:
Eze 16:49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom,.... Namely, the first after mentioned, the source and spring of the rest; the causes and means of which are declared; and the same, as is suggested, was the sin of Jerusalem: namely,
pride; which was the sin of the devils, and the cause of their ruin; the sin of our first parents, by which they fell, and destroyed themselves, and their posterity; and is the prevailing, governing, sin of human nature: it has been the ruin of kingdoms and states, of cities and particular persons; a sin hateful to God, and destructive to man:
fulness of bread; the land of Sodom was very fruitful before it was destroyed; it was like the garden of the Lord, Gen_13:10; it brought forth plentifully, so that there was great fulness of provision, of all sorts of food, which is meant by bread: this, considered in itself, was not sinful, but a blessing; it was the Lord's mercy and goodness to them that they had such plenty; but it was their sin that they abused it; luxury and intemperance, eating and drinking to excess, are here meant; which led on to that sin, and kindled the flames of it, and were the fuel to it, which has its name from them; and, besides, this fulness of good things enjoyed by them was the source of their pride, and served to increase that, as before mentioned:
and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters; or, "peace of rest" (b); prosperity and ease, security and quietness, at leisure, and without labour; two words are used to express the same thing, and to denote, as Kimchi observes, the abundance of it: sloth and idleness, as they often arise from the goodness and fruitfulness of a country, said fulness of provision, so they are the cause of much sin and wickedness; for, if persons are not employed in some business or another, either of the head or hand, they will be doing evil:
neither did she strengthen the hands of the poor and needy; though she had such abundance of food to supply them with, and so much leisure to attend to their distress; but her pride would not suffer her to do it; and she was too idle and slothful to regard such service; perhaps more is intended than is expressed; that she weakened the hands of the poor and needy, and cruelly oppressed them; which is often done by proud men, in great affluence and at leisure, which they abuse to bad purposes.
Sounds like the USA...pride, abundance, idle [seeking pleasure and entertainment, **gasp** amusement (i.e. a = not, muse = to think, thus not thinking)] and not helping the poor. Though we 'think' we have a system in place to help those who are 'less fortunate' the reality is our system enables dependence, more than a desire to rise above. Those who have a desire to move on and upward are helped, but those who want a handout and to have someone take care of them are enabled by the welfare system to do so.
O' Lord, we deserve not the least of thy mercies. Our hearts are very wicked and deceitful, we as a nation have chosen the fleshly fulfillment that the world has to offer over the pure delight of You and Your Word. Only by Your grace, mercy and forgiveness can there be any turning in this nation. For of a truth Father, we deserve to be destroyed for our wickedness, to be scattered amongst the nations, to be in bondage and disgrace. Only by You and Your magnificence have we any hope of repentance and revival in this land Lord, I beseech thee, Father, open blind eyes and deaf ears, increase the laborers in this nation's harvest, bring repentance and revival to this land.

Day 228
The exile illustrated - Ezekiel 12:1-28
False prophets - Ezekiel 13:1-23; 14:1-23
Parable of the vine - Ezekiel 15:1-8
I like the visual demonstration of impending punishment...auditory follow up...how observant are we of those warnings Father gives us via either sight or sound? Interesting in that having ears to hear, they hear not, having eyes to see they see not...dead men are the same regardless of nation or the time that they live.
False prophets? Hmmm...politians...those who speak great swelling words of peace, peace, when there is no peace. Prosperity, when there is none. How discerning are we of our current day 'prophets'? Do we hold them to the test that Father dictates for testing a TRUE prophet? If what they prophesy come not to pass, they are a false prophet. Take care little ears what you hear. Be discerning in all that is given.
Idols - they had idols in their hearts...what are we idolizing? What is an idol? Would we recognize and repent of them, once they are made known?

Days 225 - 227
Hananiah's false prophecy - those exiled will return - Jeremiah 28:1-16 (false prophet speaks peace, when God had placed nations under the yoke of Babylon. He raises up and puts down rulers.)
His death - Jeremiah 28:17 (false prophet's death fulfilled - dangerous to speak against the most High God - Lord let us all take warning.)
Jeremiah and Zedekiah take trip to Babylon - Jeremiah 51:59 - (interesting, I never noticed this before.)
Ezekiel's prophecies (in Babylon) prior to fall of Jerusalem - 593 B.C.
His preparation and commission - introduction - Ezekiel 1:1
Vision of the heavenlies - Ezekiel 1:2-28
Filled with the Spirit - Ezekiel 2:1
His commission; prophet to the craftsmen in Babylon - Ezekiel 2:3-10; 3:1-9 (this is where Ezekiel 'eats' the roll, sweet to the taste, bitter to the stomach.)
His commission as a watchman - Ezekiel 3:10-21 (this passage has always impacted me...especially as there was a situation to which I knew Father wanted me to speak and I, being a new believer, was hesitant to do and tried to have someone else speak for me...bad choice...and the person to whom I was to speak died...and I will always remember that lesson and bear the repercussions. If Father gives you something to speak to someone, regardless of how difficult it is...if you have faithfully prayed and sought HIM, HIS counsel and if necessary, counsel of others, do not hesitate to speak. Ever.)
His second vision of the heavenlies - introduction - Ezekiel 3:22-23
Filled with the Spirit again - Ezekiel 3:24-27 (again...Thank you Lord, that You filled us with Your Spirit at our new birth...that by Your sovereign grace and mercy we have an inborn, resident teacher who speaks all of You.)
Sign of the tile (siege) - Ezekiel 4:1-17
Sign of the sharp knife (famine, pestilence, sword) - Ezekiel 5:1-17
Judgment for idolatry - Ezekiel 6:1-7
Remnant to be spared - Ezekiel 6:8-10
Desolation to come - Ezekiel 6:11-14
The city judged - Ezekiel 7:1-27
Jehovah justified in sending his people into captivity - visions of Jerusalem's abominations - Ezekiel 8:1-18; 9:1-11
Departure of the Lord from the temple - Ezekiel 10:1-22; 11:1-25

I have always wondered at the phrase 'snatch you up by your hair' and if it came from Ezekiel 8:3 "...and he took me up by a lock of mine head;..." - in addition, there are numerous references to the north in this passage, which reminded me of a previous reading where the north was explicitly absent....take heed Body of Christ what is done in 'secret' is not so to the One who sees all, knows all, is all.
Which brings to mind the passage:
2Pe 3:17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
Are we as the Bereans? Acts 17:11 - searching the Scriptures daily? That we might be able to prove all things? Be aware and cognizant of false teachers?
O' Lord, create within Your body a desire to spend time with You and Your Word. Enfuse Your people with a passion for reading, studying and knowing You more intimately through Your Word. Help us, Your people to boldly speak forth Your Word to a lost and dying generation, but specifically to exhort and encourage our fellow brethren to a deeper and more meaningful relationship with You.
